  1. SURPRISE ATTACK AT RECHLIN
  2.  
  3. After initial flight testing at the factory 
  4. location in Oberphaffenhofen, in October 
  5. 1943 the Do 335 V1 prototype was ferried 
  6. to the Rechlin Erprobungsstelle for 
  7. official trials.  Despite some instability 
  8. problems at high speeds, the test pilots at 
  9. Rechlin were very excited about the 
  10. performance characteristics of the Do 335.  
  11. They found the prototype to have 
  12. excellent handling, good maneuverability, 
  13. quick acceleration, and a surprisingly tight 
  14. turning radius.

  16.                     YOUR MISSION
  17.  
  18. After completing an advanced crossover 
  19. training flight in several of the recently 
  20. produced prototypes, you are bringing 
  21. your students back to land at Rechlin.  
  22. Even though this area has been relatively 
  23. secure in the past, your eyes keep 
  24. scanning the sky for Allied intruders.  It 
  25. would be especially bad to be caught by 
  26. surprise right now, because your Do 335 
  27. V9 is the only one carrying any armament.
